The Glacis Open Air

The GLACIS OPEN AIR is a great celebration.

It is a celebration for all people in Magdeburg.

It takes place only once a year and lasts only one day.

But that one day is always beautiful!

This year the Glacis Open Air is on July 22.2023.

It's always at Glacis Park. That's where the name "Glacis Open Air" comes from.

The programme 📜

The bands are especially important. They play music.

You can watch and listen to the bands.

But there is much more to experience!

You can learn new things. For example, yoga.

In yoga, you do fun movements that someone demonstrates to you. You move slowly and breathe calmly. It's good for your body and makes you happy. But it can also be a bit difficult. Try it if you like.

There is more sport. And there is a stage where everyone can go. There you can recite your own texts or sing something. But only if you like.

Beginning and end 🕑

You can enter the Glacis Open Air from 2 pm.

When you leave the premises, you can come back any time.

The programme ends late at night.

There will even be another party. So stay and have fun!

The admission 💵

You do not have to pay any admission at all. The Glacis Open Air is free for everyone.

But you are welcome to make a voluntary donation. The many musicians and artists would be very happy!

On site there is a box where you can put some money. 1 or 2 euros are totally okay!

We call the box "hat checkout". But it is not a hat at all. We don't know why that is. You'll find the hat checkout at all the exits.

But you don't have to donate anything.

The park 🏞

Das ganze Fest-Gelände besteht aus 7 Wiesen.

There is so much to discover there.

But you can also just lie on a meadow and enjoy the day.

Bring your friends.

Or come alone and meet new friends.

The bands 🎸🎷🥁

Music is very important at the Glacis Open Air.

Lie down on a blanket and enjoy the music.

Or dance wildly! Dance as wildly and as long as you like!

Food and drinks 🤤🍔🍦

There are many stalls at the Open Air.

You can buy food and drink there.

It's not free.

But you have a huge choice.

Some things you may never have eaten before.

You might even discover a new favourite dish!

However, you are allowed to bring your own food and drink. That is not a problem!

Arrival 🚲

How do you get to us? That's very simple!

So you can come:

- on foot

- by tram

- by bus

- by train

- by bike

- by car

The bike has to stay in front of the park. The car too, of course.
